Best Indoor Toys for Active Toddlers

What makes these the best indoor toys for active toddlers?

Living in a tiny apartment with two little kids in the winter time means finding toys that are active without being insanely loud or taking up a massive amount of space!

These toys will help your kids burn some energy on the cold and rainy days so that you can enjoy your days stuck inside!

1. Foam Pogo Stick

While regular pogo sticks definitely aren’t a good indoor door, these foam pogo sticks are designed to be used inside. They won’t scratch your floors, they are a whole lot safer, and they are great for young toddlers.

2. Wiggle Walkers

These Wiggle Walkers are an amazing toy option for active kids who are stuck inside. This foam version of stilts is the perfect option for younger toddlers to build gross motor skills and core strength, but they are rated for kids up to age 8 too. Plus, the foam bottom lets your kids get out energy inside without making mass amounts of noise!

3. Kids Punching Bag

If my toddler doesn’t get some form of exercise in early on in the day, he is sure to act out all day long. An adjustable punching bag is a great form of exercise for a toddler and one they can continue with as they grow.

4. Hover Soccer Ball

If you have a lot of hardwood or vinyl floors in your house, this is a great toy! The hover soccer ball works great on any hard floor and has a soft bumper on it so it doesn’t damage the walls. Plus, this set also has a regular soccer ball, two goals, and a hover hockey puck and sticks!

5. Balance Beam

A balance beam is a great toy for toddlers to gain gross motor skills, balance, and coordination. My favorite part about this balance beam by B Toys is that the pads and beams stack inside of each other to make storage super easy in a small space.

6. Elefun

My Elefun game was one of my absolute favorites as a kid. It’s so simple to set up and play but your kids will burn a ton of energy trying to catch the butterflies.

7. ball Pit Tent

I’ve been wanting to get my kids a ball pit but I had no desire to be chasing those balls all over the house. A ball pit tent means you can set clear rules that the balls stay inside the tent. This way they can have fun without filling your entire house with ball pit balls.

8. Wobble Board

If you need a quiet toy that still burns energy, I highly reccomend a wobble board. Plus, if they get tired on rocking on it, it can also be used as a bridge, tunnel, race track, and more! A wobble board is a good active toy that will grow with your child as well.

9. Toss and Catch Ball Game

These toss and catch games are a super great way to help toddlers start learning how to catch. It increases their hand eye coordination massively. Our 3 year old couldn’t catch anything until we bought a toss and catch game. I also love that this one comes with a bag to keep everything in and also has the option to buy replacement balls too.

10. This Foldable Trampoline

Yes, you read that right. This trampoline actually folds for super easy storage!

11. Laser Tag Set

This laser tag set is an ideal active indoor toy for older kids. But, younger kids can always join teams and get in on it too! And if your toddler loves nerf guns as much as mine does, I bet they would catch on quick.

12. A Dance mat

The awesome thing about this dance mat is that it doesn’t need to be plugged into a TV. It is a complete unit all on its own. And it’s got adjustable volume, which is a huge toy win!

13. Modular Kids Play Couch

A couch that doubles as massive building blocks…it’s truly the ultimate hidden toy. This play couch is a great thing to keep in your kids play room. It doubles as a quiet place for reading and also some pretty incredible fort building materials.

14. Sit and Spin

I remember playing on a sit n’ spin for hours as a kid! I mean it’s essentially a compact version of a tea cup ride!

15. Doorway Swing

If it’s a cold or rainy day, why not just bring the park inside! I love that this doorway swing set also has attachments for a ladder, and rings to keep them from getting bored.

16. Hop Scotch Tumbling Mat

A tumbling mat is a great toy for aspiring little gymnasts and for any crazy toddler really. Plus, this hopscotch tumbling mat gives you a whole other game to play when they get bored of the mat itself.

17. Wheelybug

There are TONS of kids riding toys out there, but I love that these Wheely Bugs have computer chair type wheels that are super quiet inside and easy on your floors.

18. A Bouncy Pal

These adorable bouncy pals come in a ton of different animals and are great toys to help kids develop balance while getting out some energy.

19. A Good Ol' Fashion Scooter Board

Don’t even pretend you don’t remember these things from PE class. These scooter boards are a great option to burn off steam inside or outside. To use them inside, try creating a line through your house using masking tape and challenge your toddler to stay on the line.

20. Foldable Skip It

As you probably already know, I take value in toys that store small. So, I love that this skip it folds for storage. Skip its are great indoor and outdoor doors and the added bonus of the light up wheel is great motivation to help them get in a little cardio.

21. Door Way Swing

This doorway gym is pure genius. It not only comes with a swing but also a ladder, rings, rope, and trapeze bar! Between all the different attachments, you’ve brought the park inside and you’ve got enough for hours of fun!

22. Indoor Climbing Wall

If you have a free wall somewhere in your home, it’s actually insanely easy to add a board and a a few of these climbing holds! And a climbing wall is definitely one of the best indoor toys for active toddlers stuck inside!

This post was all about helping you find the best indoor toys for active toddlers. I hope you’ve found some good ideas to keep you both sane during the cold and rainy days.
