Cat Themed Birthday Party
What do you need for a cat themed birthday party?
To create a fun cat themed party, you’ll want to create gorgeous DIY decorations, fun cat themed food, family friendly party games, and cat themed favors that every kid will love. I’ll show you how you can do it all on a budget!
Cat Themed Birthday Party Decorations
Cat Birthday Banner
My daughter instantly was giggling walking into the room on her birthday and seeing the birthday banner of all the cats wearing party hats and bowties. It was the perfect addition to our decorations!
DIY Cat Balloon Arch
It has always blown my mind what people will pay for balloon arches! They are insanely easy to DIY with this balloon arch kit, a permanent marker, and a balloon pump. We added one big balloon in the middle and drew a cat face on it but you could easily draw cat faces on as many balloons as you’d like!
Cat Face Wall
This is about the easiest party decoration ever created. Just use streamers as the whiskers, a piece of pink paper in the shape of a heart as the nose, and black paper or streamers to create the mouth and classic cat eyes.
Cat Themed Birthday Party Food Ideas
Cat Themed Birthday Cake
A cat themed birthday party kind of requires a cat themed birthday cake! I decided to opt for a cat themed cupcake pull apart cake and it was a huge hit! My daughter loved it and it made serving our guests insanely easy.
I used taken apart Oreos and Junior Mints for the eyes and slivers of a dark chocolate bar for the whiskers! Not only are all those things easy and cheap, but they are also yummy ways to create a cat themed birthday cake!
Goldfish Bar
A goldfish bar is a super simple side or snack to add to your cat themed birthday party. It was a huge hit with both the kids and adults, has zero prep, and is extremely inexpensive as well. Just throw them in bowls or grab a set of small plastic fish bowls to throw them in if you want it to be extra adorable.
Catermelon Fruit Salad
While it looks fancy, it’s actually insanely easy to make this cat watermelon! Cut about a quarter of the watermelon off the top, empty it out with a melon baller, and then cut the rind around the top to create the cat ears. From here, add the face using toothpicks, blueberries, a small triangle of watermelon, and a sharpie to draw on the mouth.
Cat Themed Party Outfit
Cat Dress
If you’re going to have a cat themed birthday party, a cat themed outfit is a must! I found this striped cat dress for my daughter and she couldn’t stop giggling when she saw it.
Cat Themed Birthday Party Games
Mouse Toss
It took me a total of about 10 minutes to create this mouse toss games and the kids absolutely loved it. Plus, all you need is a foam board from the dollar store, markers, and some sort of mouse stuffed animal.
Cat Themed Birthday Party Favors
Hats for Cats
I was honestly so surprised how inexpensive these cat ear headbands were and they were a huge hit with everyone at our cat party! Even the adults had fun wearing them!
Adopt a Cat
While parents would hold a grudge forever if you gave away real cats, the kids will love you forever when they get to pick out and take home their very own cat stuffed animal.
This post was all about creating a memorable cat themed party for your little cat lover (without spending a fortune)! I hope this helps make their day extra special!
